Privacy

What this site records, what it does not, and how to switch it off.

In short: this site uses two analytics tools to understand which pages are read. It runs no advertising, sets no advertising cookies, sells no personal data, and never asks you for your name or email unless you choose to send it. You can decline analytics entirely and read the whole site.

Who runs this site

This site is operated by Sean Own (OWN ZHEN XUAN), based in Macau. Questions about this policy, or a request to delete data associated with you, can be sent through the contact page.

What is collected

Only aggregate, anonymous reading statistics. Specifically, the two analytics tools may record:

  • Which page you opened, and which page you opened next
  • Whether the page was opened directly or arrived from a search engine, another site, or a shared link
  • Your approximate region and device type, and a coarse time stamp
  • A shortened, anonymised form of your IP address, used only to derive the region above

None of this is linked to your name, your email address, or any account. There is no login and no user profile on this site.

The two tools used

ToolWhat it doesYour control
Plausible Counts visits and page views without setting any cookie or storing anything on your device. Runs immediately; it collects nothing personal by design.
Google Analytics 4 Provides the same page-view counts plus richer breakdowns (sources, navigation order, time on page). Runs in Consent Mode: the measurement script loads with analytics storage switched off, and only becomes active if you press Accept on the banner. If you press Decline, no analytics identifiers are stored.

Cookies and local storage

This site does not set any advertising or profiling cookies. The only thing stored on your device is a single local-storage entry recording your analytics choice (granted or denied). It contains no personal data, is readable only by this site, and is never sent anywhere.

Google Analytics and international transfers

If you accept, Google Analytics may process data on servers outside your own country, including in the United States. If you decline, no such transfer occurs, because nothing identifying is stored in the first place.

Forms and email

If you use the subscribe form or contact form, whatever you type is delivered so I can reply. That information is used only to answer you. It is not added to any mailing list you did not ask for, and it is not shared.

Third-party content

Some pages embed or link to external material, such as video and maps. Those providers operate under their own privacy policies once the content loads, and this policy does not cover them. Embedded media is kept to a minimum.

Changing your mind later

You can revisit your choice at any time. Every page footer carries a Cookie settings button; pressing it clears your stored answer and brings the banner back. Clearing your browser's site data has the same effect.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page is updated. Material changes will also be noted on the site.
