This stop was about ecosystems. The morning took the delegation through the city's Six Little Dragons corridor — a cluster of AI, robotics and new-retail companies whose collective market cap is now larger than the GDP of several European countries. The walk isn't a tour. It's a recruitment pitch: every company you visit is hiring, every founder is reachable, every product is benchmarked against global competitors the same week it ships.

The afternoon slowed down. Idea Union (id u u) hosted us in their studio, where for two hours we sat with founders who have designed flagship retail experiences for China's leading cultural and consumer brands. Their pitch is unglamorous and important: a brand is not a logo; a brand is a thousand small decisions that line up. And those decisions need to be designed, not improvised.

It was the conversation I came for. Macau has spent twenty years talking about becoming a creative hub. The Six Little Dragons show what that requires: patient capital, a workforce that codes and designs at the same time, and executives who can read a P&L in the morning and a moodboard in the afternoon. The gap between Macau's aspiration and the corridor's reality is closing faster than the public debate assumes.

The day ended with a private dinner where three founders agreed to visit Macau in the following quarter. A small step. The right one.

A brand is not a logo. A brand is a thousand small decisions that line up.
